Chicago: Father’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Knanaya Catholic Forane Church in Bensenville. The Holy Mass, offered at 10:00 a.m., was led by the parish vicar, Rev. Fr. Abraham Kalariykkal.
Following the Mass, fathers above the age of 75 from the parish were specially honored. A special prayer and blessing were also offered for all fathers. Representing the senior-most fathers of the parish, Mr. Jacob Pullappally was honored with a ceremonial shawl by Fr. Abraham Kalariykkal.
The celebrations continued in the parish hall, where a variety of entertaining competitions and activities were organized for fathers. The Women’s Ministry played the leading role in coordinating the Father’s Day celebrations. Under the leadership of Priya Thekkanattu, the ministry also arranged a delicious homemade meal for all attendees.
On behalf of the parish community, Trustee Coordinator Thomas Kunnumpuram expressed gratitude to the Women’s Ministry for their dedicated efforts in organizing the event. Along with the Women’s Ministry, parish trustees Thomas Kunnumpuram, Mathias Pullappally, Abraham Areechirayil, Jaimon Padinjareel, and Ebin Kulathil Karott provided leadership and support to ensure the smooth conduct of the program.
