Houston: The month-long Marian devotion concluded prayerfully on May 31 at St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Forane Church, Houston. The celebrations were beautifully organized under the leadership of the parish Legion of Mary.
A solemn procession led by members of the Legion of Mary, with the participation of numerous faithful, took place before the 7:30 a.m. Holy Mass on Sunday. Following the procession, Legion members offered roses before the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary and joined in special prayers.
The three Holy Masses celebrated at the church on the same day were led by parish pastor Fr. Abraham Mutholath and assistant pastor Fr. Joshy Valiyaveettil. After the liturgical celebrations, members of the Legion of Mary lovingly served Pachor, a traditional dish, to all parishioners and visitors.
The various programs associated with the Marian Month conclusion were coordinated by the Legion of Mary office bearers: President Cicy Thottil, Vice President Cicy Poothakkari, Secretary Tessy Mundappuzha, Joint Secretary Mollykutty Pathiyil, and Treasurer Leelamma Illikkattil, along with other committee members.
The parish trustees, Parish Executive Committee members, and the SJC Sisters also provided valuable leadership and support for the successful conduct of all the celebrations.
