Chicago St. Mary’s Launches Men’s Ministry Activities for 2026–27

he inauguration of the 2026–27 activities of the Men’s Ministry at Morton Grove St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Parish was held on Sunday, May 3, in a prayerful and vibrant atmosphere. The ceremony took place following the 10:00 a.m. Holy Mass.

The official inauguration was led by parish vicar Fr. Siju Mudakkodil, who lit the traditional lamp in the presence of Men’s Ministry coordinators, Koodarayogam Men’s Ministry representatives, parish trustees, and Women’s Ministry representatives. In his inaugural address, Fr. Siju emphasized the important role of the Men’s Ministry in strengthening parish life and encouraged members to actively participate in the parish’s spiritual and community initiatives during the new year.

A seminar on the topic “Retirement – A New Beginning” was conducted by Shibu Peter Vettukallel, a social worker, Kidney Foundation organizer, and founding president of the Niles Rotary Club. His inspiring session focused on approaching retirement with confidence, purpose, and social commitment.

Assistant Vicar Fr. Aneesh Maveliputhenpurayil extended his best wishes and expressed hope that the activities of the Men’s Ministry would contribute greatly to the spiritual and social growth of the parish community.

Men’s Ministry Coordinator Biju James Poothara delivered the welcome address, while Alex Mullappally proposed the vote of thanks. The event concluded with refreshments prepared under the leadership of Philip Puthenpurayil.

The program was coordinated with the support of trustees Xavier Naduparambil, Sunny Kannala, Joby Polackal, Majo Kunnassery, Felix Palakan, and the Men’s Ministry coordinators.
