Chicago: The CML (Cherupushpa Mission League) unit of St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Church organized a leadership training workshop for children on Saturday, April 18. The program, designed for CML executives, group leaders, and assistant leaders, turned out to be an inspiring and enriching experience for all participants.
Fr. Sunil Kuzhiparambil of the Delhi-Agra Diocese, who was on a short visit to the United States, inaugurated the workshop after leading the opening prayer. CML Joint Treasurer David Kalappurackal welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource persons.
The workshop was coordinated by Mission League unit directors Jojo Analil, Bibi Nedumthuruthil Puthenpurayil, and Surya Karikkulam. Training sessions were led by Mr. Teddy John and Mr. James Kunnassery. Teddy John, a technology expert with over 30 years of experience and a technical lead for global teams, handled the theoretical sessions. James Kunnassery, a high school senior and the first president of the St. Mary’s CML unit, led the hands-on training sessions.
The workshop aimed at nurturing leadership qualities and building self-confidence among children. It included both theoretical and practical training on communication skills, group activities, and leadership decision-making. The enthusiastic participation of the children added great energy to the program.
In his concluding remarks, CML Unit President Isaac Mattathil expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event. The organizers noted that the workshop was highly effective in fostering leadership skills, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility among the participants.
Fr. Sunil Kuzhiparambil expressed hope that such initiatives would inspire children to grow into strong future leaders. Fr. Aneesh Mavely Puthenpurayil, Spiritual Director of the St. Mary’s Mission League unit, also congratulated the participants for their active involvement.
