Leuven: The Belgium Knanaya Catholic Community celebrated the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, its principal feast, with devotion and grandeur on September 12 at St. Joseph’s Church in Leuven.
As part of the feast celebrations, the flag hoisting, dedication of the feast to the sponsors, and Ladeen were conducted under the leadership of Fr. Teswin Veliyamkulathel. The solemn feast-day Mass was celebrated by Fr. Bineesh Mankottil, with Fr. Jenson Karakkattil delivering the feast message. Fr. Bijosh Moolekkudiyil, Fr. Ebin Kuzhikkatt, and Fr. Sinoj Irattakkalayil concelebrated.
A solemn feast procession followed by the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament was held. After the fellowship meal, a mega Margamkali organized by KCWA and a flash mob by KCYL members added color to the celebrations.
A Chundam Chaarthu competition was also conducted on the basis of Kudara Yogams. Holy Angels, Infant Jesus, and Thiruhridayam Kudara Yogams secured the first, second, and third positions respectively.
The Belgium KCWA took responsibility for organizing the feast. Community Administrator Mr. Shibi Jacob, President Mr. Deepu Jose, office bearers Mr. Smijo Thomas, Mrs. Tomsy Tommy, Mr. Jobin Mathew, Mrs. Jooby Tomsy, Mr. Jose Kurian, and Chaplain Fr. Teswin Veliyamkulathel led the various activities of the feast day.
