DETROIT: St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Parish, Detroit, joyfully celebrated the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Baptism on Saturday, June 13, in a prayerful and festive atmosphere.
The children who received their First Holy Communion were Akshay Pokkanthanam, Aniya Thannichuvattil, Gabriella Mazhupel, Michael Mazhupel, Hazel Chembola, Neveah Thanath, Natasha Thanath, and Nora Kalappurayil.
The Sacrament of Baptism was administered to Kaval Chittalakkattu and Taison Chembola.
The liturgical celebrations were led by the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Joseph Tharaykkal, who served as the principal celebrant. Rev. Fr. Dijan Michael OFM Cap. concelebrated the services.
The children were prepared for the reception of First Holy Communion through months of dedicated catechetical formation and spiritual preparation under the guidance of Titsy Valiyaparambil and Simi Thaimayil.
