Chicago: In connection with International Nurses Day, Nurses Day was celebrated in a special manner on Sunday, May 17, at St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Church, Morton Grove. Following all the Holy Masses held that day, special prayers of blessing and anointing services were conducted for nurses. Gifts from the parish were also distributed to all participants.
Vicar Fr. Siju Mudakodil and Assistant Vicar Fr. Aneesh Maveliputhenpurayil led the Holy Masses and special prayer services held at 8:15 AM, 10:00 AM, and 5:30 PM. Fr. Siju highlighted the valuable contributions nurses make to society and the healthcare field and expressed gratitude for their dedicated and compassionate service.
The event arrangements were coordinated by Nurses Ministry coordinators Lizzy Mullappally, Sally Kizhakkekuruttu, Shirley Thottunkal, and Mathew Jose Mangatt, along with parish trustees Xavier Naduparambil, Sunny Kannala, Joby Polackal, Majo Kunnassery, and Felix Palakkan.
