Students with Outstanding Attendance Honored at St. Mary’s Religious Education School in Chicago

Chicago: The academic year classes of the Religious Education School at St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Church, Morton Grove, concluded with a special ceremony honoring students who demonstrated outstanding attendance throughout the year. Prizes and recognition awards were distributed to the deserving students during the closing day celebrations.

The event was held on May 17 following the Holy Qurbana at 10:00 a.m. Vicar Fr. Siju Mudakkodil and Assistant Vicar Fr. Aneesh Maveliputhenpurayil presented the awards to the students. Sunday School Principal Saji Poothrikkayil introduced the award-winning students.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr. Siju Mudakkodil stated that nearly 150 students from the Religious Education School, which has more than 450 students enrolled, qualified for recognition due to their excellent attendance record. He noted that this achievement reflects the importance given to religious education by both the students and their parents. He also congratulated the parents for their encouragement and support in helping the children achieve this milestone.

Following the award ceremony, an outdoor picnic was organized for the Sunday School students, along with an appreciation lunch for the teachers. The programs were coordinated under the leadership of Sunday School Principal Saji Poothrikkayil, Assistant Principal Maneesh Kaimoolayil, fellow catechism teachers, and parish trustees Xavier Naduparambil, Sunny Kannala, Joby Polakkal, Majo Kunnassery, and Felix Palakkan.
