London: Vaazhvu 2026, the annual Knanaya Catholic faith and heritage gathering organized by Knanaya Catholic Missions UK, will be held on September 26 at the Bethel Convention Centre. Mar Joseph Pandarasseril, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Kottayam, will grace the occasion as the chief guest.

Since Fr. Suni Padinjarekkara assumed office as the Coordinator of Knanaya Catholic Missions UK, Vaazhvu has evolved into a vibrant faith and cultural movement among Knanaya Catholics across the United Kingdom. More than an annual gathering, the event has become a meaningful charitable initiative, with its proceeds dedicated to supporting marginalized families through housing and medical assistance.

Funds raised through last year’s Vaazhvu have made it possible to undertake the construction of two houses, surpassing the original goal of building just one home. This year’s event aims to raise additional funds for housing projects as well as medical assistance for those in need.

The Entry Pass Kick-off held in Liverpool on May 16 witnessed an enthusiastic response, with numerous families coming forward as Grand Sponsors. During the ceremony, the Lamp of Love, blessed and lit by Archbishop Mar Mathew Moolakkatt of the Archdiocese of Kottayam, was entrusted to the various Knanaya missions. The Sneha Deepa Yatra (Journey of the Lamp of Love) has since received a warm welcome in every parish. Entry Pass Kick-off programs are currently underway in all 15 Knanaya Catholic Missions and at various Holy Mass centres throughout the UK.

Vaazhvu 2026 will feature a rich blend of cultural performances that celebrate and pass on the Knanaya community’s faith and heritage to future generations. Traditional Knanaya songs, ceremonial chants, and other heritage presentations will enrich the event, transforming the Bethel Convention Centre into a vibrant celebration of faith, tradition, fellowship, and community spirit.
