Faith training program gets off to a great start in Tampa parish

Tampa: The new academic year of the Faith Training Program at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fortuna has begun. The inauguration and open house held on Sunday, November 16th was notable for the presence of students, parents, teachers, and parishioners.

After a joint Holy Mass for students and parents, the parish vicar, Fr. Jose Adopilli, officially inaugurated the Sunday School activities for the new academic year.

Sijoy Cyriac Parapalli took over as the new Director of Religious Education (DRE). At the ceremony, the parish trustees presented a gift to the former DRE, Sally Kulangara, in recognition of her dedicated service and leadership.

All the Sunday School teachers took their oath in front of the altar. Then Fr. Jose blessed the teachers. The priest blessed all the classrooms in the Sunday School.

As part of the preparations for the new academic year, a special orientation workshop was also organized for teachers the previous day. Fr. Jimmy James led the workshop. The workshop was helpful in further strengthening the responsibility and dedication of teachers in the faith training of children and in introducing new teaching methods. Sijoy Parapallyl, Ebin Thadathil, and Dustin Mudeekankunnel spoke.

The inaugural programs and teacher training demonstrated the parish’s commitment to providing a strong foundation for the faith and spiritual growth of the new generation.
