A Day of Joy and Renewal at Caritas

Today was truly special. The Caritas Health Team, led by Fr. Binu and his fellow priests along with the Spiritual Care Team, organised a very unique and refreshing gathering — one that touched the heart in every sense.

The guests were senior priests and religious sisters, all graceful elders over 75. What a blessing to see such radiant faces and spirited hearts gathered together! For 150 golden minutes, we laughed, relaxed, shared memories, and felt a deep sense of belonging inside the warm and welcoming Caritas Jubilee Hall.

It felt like a five-star experience — not because of grandeur, but because of the genuine hospitality, respect, and love that surrounded us. We were not just attendees; we were cherished. All aches and little worries simply drifted away in the gentle breeze from the hilltop.

We began with quiet moments of mindfulness, then moved into light exercises, joyful group games, and spontaneous singing. There was laughter, playfulness, and a sense of youthful energy among all of us — proof that age truly is just a number when the heart is young.

A beautiful surprise awaited us when the Archbishop joined the gathering. His warm words of appreciation and his personal handshake to each participant filled us with encouragement and dignity. His presence added a very special glow to the day.

A heartfelt salute to the whole Caritas team — Fr. Binu, the priests, and every member who made this day so memorable. The young volunteers, led by Joythis Lukose, deserve special thanks. They guided us with such respect and affection, like loving grandchildren caring for their grandparents. Their confidence with modern technology amused and impressed us — a gentle reminder that we, too, can still learn and delight in the new.

We concluded by joyfully singing “Baru Mariam,” and followed it with a delicious lunch that warmed both heart and body.

It was not just an event — it was a celebration of life, memory, faith, and companionship.

Deo Gratias!

Thank you, Caritas, for lifting our spirits and renewing our hearts.
