Mr. Simon Luka, belonging to the Kallara Kapicad Muttathil family, and his wife, Mrs. Molly Luka of the Maliekal family, has once again proven that passion and purpose know no age limits. Mr. Luka, who proudly served in the Indian Air Force for over three decades, traveled across India with his family, embodying dedication and discipline throughout his service. Upon retirement, instead of choosing a life of rest, he discovered a new calling farming.

Now at the remarkable age of 84, Mr. Luka continues to inspire countless people around the world with his unwavering commitment and innovative spirit in agriculture. Residing in Houston, Texas, he follows a consistent daily routine waking up early, tending to his farm with care and creativity, and continuing his lifelong journey of learning. In his Houston yard, he cultivates an impressive 28 different varieties of vegetables and fruits, each thriving under his meticulous attention and innovative techniques. Through careful soil management, organic methods, and water conservation techniques, he proved that farming can be both profitable and environmentally responsible. His deep interest in modern and sustainable farming methods has earned him widespread admiration among the global Malayalee community.

For his outstanding contributions and dedication, Mr. Luka has been honored with multiple recognitions over the years for his excellence in farming. This year, he received the prestigious Karshakasree Award — Houston’s Best and Innovative Farmer Award along with special recognition from the Houston Knanaya Catholic Society, Sienna Malayali Association, and Kallara Sangamam Houston.

Through his passion, perseverance, and humble approach to life, Mr. Simon Luka has shown that age is truly just a number.
