Once upon a godly time
Christian Era three four five (345)
Tread a clan of chosen ones
Tribe of Juda, Kananites
Gazing upon God’s own land
Set on sail for Cranganore.

Landed on in Kodungallur
Knai Thoma entourage
On his side is Mar Youseph
Priests and acolytes beside.

Families of Judah fame
Altogether seventy two
Mighty throne of Cheraman
Perumal gave them warm
welcome!
Royal meets the Royalty
Buoyed by their dignity
Land was given free of tax
To rein in there for days on end.

Pouring over privileges
Over and above everyone
Seventy two of them galore
Knai Thoma starts to reign.

Lifting up the fallen faith
And fervor of the native land
Brought the Church to fruition
Through faith and morals of the yore.

Restituted estranged tribes
That left the King for Shri Lanka
Folklore has it sung by all
Laurels of the chosen ones.

Spreading throughout Kerala
Stepped ashore on overseas
Started churches world over
Pastors followed there upon.

Warrior faithful scores and scores
Sacred Heart our patron though
