Chicago: The Annual General Meeting of the Cherupushpa Mission League (CML) unit of St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Church, Chicago, and the formal inauguration of the 2026–27 activity year were held at the St. Mary’s Religious Education School Hall.
CML President Isaac Mattathil presided over the meeting, which was inaugurated by CML Spiritual Director Fr. Aneesh Maveliputhenpurayil. Around 150 CML members, group coordinators, religious education teachers and office bearers participated. CML Director Jojo Analil coordinated the meeting.
The program began with a prayer song sung by Evana Mannukunnel, followed by the welcome address by Abigail Kandachchanparambil. In his presidential address, Isaac Mattathil highlighted the role of CML activities in the spiritual and personal growth of children and in fostering a spirit of service to the community.
Secretary Shobin Kannampally presented the annual report of the previous activity year, while Treasurer Joshua Kizhavallil presented the financial report. David Kalapurakkal shared his experiences as a CML leader with the children and encouraged them to participate actively in CML activities.
New executive members and group leaders for the 2026–27 activity year were elected at the meeting. The newly elected office bearers were congratulated on their selection.
The active involvement of the group coordinators contributed significantly to the success of CML activities during the previous year. Bibi Nedumthuruthiputhenpurayil, Surya Karikkulam and other group coordinators provided strong support in various activities and ensured the active participation of the children. The CML leadership expressed appreciation for their dedicated service.
In his inaugural message, Fr. Aneesh Maveliputhenpurayil emphasized the importance of children and young people growing actively in prayer and service. He encouraged the children to make use of the various opportunities provided by CML to grow in faith and develop a spirit of service.
Fr. Aneesh Maveliputhenpurayil and newly elected President Philip Nedumthuruthiputhenpurayil jointly marked the formal beginning of the 2026–27 activity year.
DRE Saji Poothrikkayil delivered felicitations and assured the CML unit of the full support of the Religious Education School for its activities. He encouraged the children to maintain their enthusiasm and actively participate in all programs. Assistant DRE Manish Kaimoolayil and Trustee Representative Majo Kunnassery were also present and extended their support to the activities.
