Malakallu: Bringing pride to the Knanaya community, Laya Vinoy secured gold and silver medals at the National Junior Rowing Championship held in Bhopal. She won the gold medal in the four-member coxless rowing event and the silver medal in the eight-member event.

Laya was previously part of the gold-winning team at the 2023 Sub-Junior Games, and in 2024, she contributed to the team that claimed the silver medal at the National Rowing Championship held in Pune. Her consistent performance has now earned her a selection to the Asian Games training camp, marking a significant milestone in her sporting career.

Laya is a Plus One student at SDV Higher Secondary School, Alappuzha. She is the daughter of Vinoy Mathai (Chemanattu Kollichal) and Meena, belonging to the Malakallu parish. Her siblings are Saya and Aksel.
