Qatar Knanaya Sangamam 2025 Concludes with Grand Success

Doha, Qatar – The Qatar Knanaya Cultural Association (QKCA), in collaboration with the Knanaya Jacobite community, successfully organized the Qatar Knanaya Sangamam 2025, showcasing the unity and cultural heritage of the Knanaya community in Qatar. The event was held on November 14 at the Ideal Indian School and witnessed the participation of over a thousand community members from across the country.

The program was inaugurated by Manikandan A.P., President of the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC). Fr. Aju K. Thomas, Vicar of St. Peter’s Knanaya Jacobite Church, presided over the ceremony, and Shanavas Bava, President of ICBF, delivered the keynote address. Jijoy George, President of QKCA, welcomed the gathering, while Chief Coordinator Jacob Cherian proposed the vote of thanks.

Dignitaries including E.M. Sudheer (Director, Kerala Pravasi Welfare Board & NORKA Board Member), K.V. Boban (General Secretary, INCAS), Joyi Antony (President, SMCA), and Elias David (MD, Texas Study Abroad) offered felicitations. Chief guests, sponsors, Knanaya members completing 25 years in Qatar, and noted social worker Jopachan Thekkekkuttu were honored with mementos.

Cultural highlights included mega Parichamuttukali, mega Margamkali, traditional performances, folk songs, and children’s programs presented jointly by members of both Knanaya communities. The event concluded with a Chenda Melam fusion music performance, blending classical and modern styles to deliver a memorable finale.

The Sangamam’s success was made possible by the leadership of Fr. Aju K. Thomas, Chief Coordinators Jijoy George, Jacob Cherian, Sooraj Thomas, and Ebin Payyanad, along with committee members from both organizations.
