Chicago: The inauguration of the Women’s Ministry for the year 2026–27 and the celebration of International Women’s Day were jointly held at St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Church, Morton Grove, Chicago, on Sunday, March 22.
The program commenced after the Holy Mass celebrated at 10:00 AM, led by Assistant Vicar Rev. Fr. Aneesh Maveliputhenpurayil. The gathering began with prayers led by Vicar Rev. Fr. Siju Mudakkodil and Fr. Aneesh. Coordinator Jaya Kulangara welcomed the attendees.
The official inauguration was performed by Rev. Fr. Siju Mudakkodil by lighting the traditional lamp, extending his blessings and best wishes for the upcoming activities of the Women’s Ministry. Women’s Ministry Coordinators, Kudumbayogam Coordinators, Men’s Ministry Coordinators, Parish Executive members, and Sr. Silverius were present on the occasion.
As part of the Women’s Day celebrations, a keynote session on the topic “Jesus and Women” was delivered by Mrs. Jessy Thottichira, former Principal of St. Anne’s Higher Secondary School, Kottayam, and a noted social worker. She was introduced to the gathering by Coordinator Rejimol Valloor.
Coordinator Lissy Mullappally delivered the vote of thanks. The program concluded with a traditional meal prepared under the leadership of Antony Vallur.
