Auxiliary Bishop Geevarghese Mar Aprem said that the activities being carried out as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of Melbourne St. Mary’s  Knanaya Catholic Parish are exemplary and commendable. He was speaking while inaugurating the distribution of the charity project ‘Kottayam Archdiocese Karuthal which aims to provide a wheelchair to every parish in the Archdiocese of Kottayam.
He said that the Melbourne Parish is carrying out a philanthropic project which is a great care and a helping hand by providing wheelchairs.
In the ceremony held at Kallissery Bishop’s House, Malankara Phoronavicar Fr.Reni Kattel and Kallissery Visitation Convent Mother Superior Sr. Ancy Tom also inaugurated the philanthropic project by providing a wheelchair.
Fr Abhilash Kannampadam, Parish Priest of Melbourne gave the introductory message. 10th Anniversary General Convener and former Archdiocesan President of KCYL, Shinoy Manjankal, explained the parish’s one-year work program. The first wheelchair of the charity project was given to Kallissery Parish.
