KCC Western Ontario’s ‘Unarvu 2.0’ Youth Camp Concludes Successfully

London, Ontario: Unarvu 2.0, the three-day youth camp organized by KCC Western Ontario for the second consecutive year, concluded successfully, offering participants a unique blend of leadership training, faith formation, and personal development. Held from July 10 to 12, the camp brought together 72 young people from various regions of Western Ontario, as well as from Scarborough and Oshawa in the Greater Toronto Area.

Building on the success of last year’s program, this year’s camp featured a wider range of sessions and interactive activities. Expert-led classes covered topics including leadership, etiquette and conduct in public and church settings, emergency response, career guidance, craft work, canvas painting, and awareness of the Knanaya community and its heritage.

The academic and training sessions were coordinated by Maria Kaitharam, Christine Pandarassery, and Lins Marangattil. One of the major highlights of the camp was the Mentalism Live Show presented by illusionist Febin Harippad, which captivated the participants and provided a memorable and entertaining experience.

Rev. Fr. Saji Chazhissery celebrated the Holy Qurbana and led the Eucharistic Adoration throughout the camp, enriching the participants through spiritual reflections and faith-based formation.

Another notable feature of the camp was the group presentations and quiz sessions focusing on the unique customs, traditions, history, and heritage of the Knanaya community. These sessions, designed to instill a deeper appreciation of the community’s identity among the younger generation, generated enthusiastic participation and engaging discussions.

The camp was led by KCC Western Ontario President Feby Thaikkakath, Secretary Majeesh Keezhadath Malayil, Women’s Forum President Jesly Puthenpurayil, and Secretary Anjana Eenthunkattil. They were supported by a dedicated organizing committee comprising Sibi Mulayinkil, Josmon Thekkilakkattil, Shijo Mangatt, Jibin Purathechira, Vinu Vadakke Maniyamkunnel, Ajo Kaithakka Nirappel, Rijo Mangatt, Shelly Puthenpurayil, Simi Kalambamkuzhiyil, Lissa Perumappadam, Sheeba Mulloor, Elizabeth Korappilliyil, and Christy Attumel.

The organizers said that Unarvu 2.0 successfully achieved its objective of nurturing leadership qualities, social responsibility, Christian values, and a deeper understanding of the Knanaya heritage among the younger generation, making the camp a resounding success in every respect.
