Muttam: The Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Church, Urakunnu was celebrated in a grand scale.
The Platinum Jubilee was inaugurated on August 15, 2021 by Mar Joseph Pandarassery,
As part of the Jubilee closing events, Mar Mathew Moolakat Metropolitan offered the Pontifical Mass and delivered the Jubilee message. “Let the Jubilee celebration be an opportunity to look back at the origins of the Church and look for ways forward, imbued with the spirit drawn from it,” urged Metropolitan Abhiwandya. Former vicars and parish priests who served the parish assisted in the thanksgiving Mass.
The Jubilee closing session which started at 6 pm was inaugurated by the Most High Cardinal and Major Archbishop of Syro-Malabar Church, George Alenchery. As part of the Platinum Jubilee, Cardinal released the complete manuscript of the Bible prepared under the leadership of KCWA. Mar Mathew Mulakat presided over the meeting and inaugurated the distribution of Jubilee Memorial Bibles to the families.Water Resources Minister Roshi Augustian delivered the keynote speech.
