The first meeting of the newly formed Pastoral Council of Kottayam Archdiocese was held at Thellakam Chaitanya Pastoral Centre. Archbishop Mar Mathew Mulakat presided over the Meeting and inaugurated the new Pastoral Council. In his opening speech, he said that God’s love should be reflected in daily life. He added that the members of the Pastoral Council are bound to do good to the Archdiocese, the Knanaya community and the general public by walking with the church in faith.
Pastoral Coordinator Fr. Mathew Manakat started the meeting with prayer. Auxiliary bishop Geevarghese Mar Aprem welcomed the gathering. Vicar General Fr. Michael Vettikat led the discussions. Pastoral Council Secretaries Fr. Thomas Animotilil and Sabu Karisserikal were elected.
