San Jose, Calif.: San Jose St. Mary’s Catholic Church held a memorial service for Knai Thomman. “Today’s children are the promises of tomorrow. Our tradition and faith should be protected through them” Knai Thomman Day wasd commemorated on March 17 under the auspices of the Kids Club. Knai Thomman Day is celebrated every year on March 7 under the patronage of Kottayam Archdiocese to commemorate the arrival of Knai Thomman in Kodungallur in 345 AD. The ceremony began with the singing of the Knanaya prayer song, “Marthoman Namnayaalannu”. The children recited the oath in front of the statue of Knai Thomman placed in the hall, “We will keep the lamp lit by Knai Thomman in Kodungallur from generation to generation and not extinguish it”. Later, this great day ended with singing and chanting of ancient Canaanite songs.
