In his inaugural address, Mar Mathew Moolakkatt wished that these three days would be fruitful, just as the disciples of Christ, together with the Holy Mother, set out for missionary work in prayer, unity, love, and the Holy Spirit in the spirit of Christ, in these last holy days of preparation for the Feast of Pentecost. He expressed the hope that the spirit of openness that has been taking place in the Church for the past two years through synodality, listening to everyone without excluding anyone and through collective discussions, may be present in all discussions and decisions. In light of the rapid migration of Knanaya people, the Venerable Father, along with Pope Leo XIV, hoped that this conference would yield mature decisions and ideas to pass on the flame of faith passed down from generation to generation, placing a strong emphasis on the Knanaya tradition in this modern era of artificial intelligence and new media.
The first meeting of the Knanaya Region of the Diocese of Chicago, which was established for the first time outside the proper territory of the Syro-Malabar Church, was attended by the Regional Director, Reverend Mon. Thomas Mulawanalachan. Fathers, priests, sisters, and lay representatives were welcomed.
