The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was celebrated with devotion at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Detroit.

The services began at 7:00 PM on Friday, August 1st, and the vicar, Rev. Fr. Joseph Tharakkal, offered the Holy Mass in memory of the departed. The services began at 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 2nd, and the Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Joby Pannooriyal OSB, who presided over the Mass and delivered the Holy Mass message. Rev. Fr. Joseph Tharakkal, Rev. Fr. Sabu Vellarimattathil OSB, and Rev. Fr. Joseph Puthuparambil OSB were the co-celebrants. The parishioners participated with devotion in the rosary procession around the church. After the services, there was a cultural evening and a social gathering.

The services began at 10:30 am on Sunday, August 3. Rev. Fr. Joseph Puthuparambil OSB was the chief celebrant for the Thirunal Rassa Kurbana, Rev. Fr. Joby Pannooril OSB, Rev. Fr. Sabu Vellarimattathil OSB (Tirunal Message) and Rev. Fr. Joseph Tharakkal were the co-celebrants. Members of the St. Mary’s Choir led the singing service. This was followed by the Thirunal Pradakshina. The Thirunal Pradakshina was led by Rev. Fr. Joy Chakkiyan. The Chenda Melam of the Motown Melam (Detroit) team added to the mela’s excitement for the Pradakshina. The parish vicar Rev. Fr.
