On Monday, June 30, His Excellency Geevarghese Mar Aprem, Auxiliary Bishop of Kottayam Archdiocese and First Bishop of the Malankara Rite of Kottayam Archdiocese, visited St. Mary’s Catholic Parish in Detroit. He offered Holy Mass in the Malankara Rite. Rev. Fr. Thomas Mulavanal, Vicar General of the Knanaya Region and Vicar of the Knanaya Catholic Parish in Bensonville, and Rev. Fr. Joseph Tharakkal, Detroit St. Joseph Syro Malankara Parish Vicar Rev. Fr. Patros Panuel, Chicago St. Mary’s Catholic Parish Vicar Rev. Fr. Siju Makhkodil were the co-celebrants. A reception was held at the parish hall. Parish Vicar Rev. Fr. Joseph Tharakkal along with the parish council members Sebastian Vanchithanam and Xavier Thottam led all the activities.
