Chicago, IL: Chicago St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Parish announces a three-day Advent Retreat as part of its spiritual preparation for Christmas. The retreat will be led by renowned preacher and Capuchin priest Fr. Joseph Puthenpurackal, widely known as “Kappippodi Achayan” for his inspiring and humor-filled sermons.
The retreat will commence on Friday, December 12, with Holy Mass at 6:00 PM, followed by preaching sessions until 9:00 PM.
On Saturday, sessions will begin with Holy Mass at 10:00 AM and continue until 5:00 PM.
The final day, Sunday, will also start with Holy Mass at 10:00 AM, concluding with the closing session at 5:00 PM.
Opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available on all retreat days.
Parish Vicar Fr. Siju Mudakkodiyil invites all parishioners and faithful to participate and receive spiritual blessings as the community prepares to welcome the birth of Jesus.
The retreat is organized under the leadership of Assistant Vicar Fr. Anish Maveliputhenpur, Parish Secretary Sr. Shalom, Trustees Sabu Kattappuram, Binu Poothurail, Lookachan Poozhikkunnel, George Mattathiparambil, Nibin Vettikkattu, Parish Council Secretary Sunny Meledam, and Treasurer James Mannakulathil.
