Chicago: Mother’s Day was celebrated at St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Parish in Chicago. After the four Holy Masses offered on Sunday, May 12 in the parish church, flowers were given to the mothers and special prayers and blessings were said for them. One of the senior priests of Kottayam Archdiocese and Monipally Vicar Fr. Ettiappally was the main celebrant.
After Mass, many people attended Mother’s Day celebrations under the auspices of the parish’s Men’s Ministry. Entertainment programs including chair games and quizzes were conducted in a varied and enjoyable manner. Paulson Kulangara, Stephen Chollampel, CB Kaithakkathottiyil, Saju Kannampally and Binu Poothurayil led these entertainment programs. A program called “Ammakkuru Prasya” organized under the auspices of Teens Ministry and distribution of payasam sponsored by Malabar Catering added color and flavor to the celebrations.
