CHICAGO: The construction work of the houses included in the Karunya housing project, which was started in connection with the major feast of the Chicago St. Mary’s Knanaya  Catholic Parish (2023), is progressing at a fast pace. The Karunya House Project is a project undertaken by the women who were the Presudhenthis of Thirunal  in 2023. The women selected the 8 most deserving families from various parishes in High Range – Padamugam forane of Kottayam Archdiocese to lend a helping hand to the homeless. In January, North American Region Vicar General Fr. Thomas Mulavanal performed the foundation stone laying ceremony of the first houses in the presence of the respective parish vicars.
