Kottayam: A meeting was held at Archbishops House Kottayam in the context of malicious and erroneous news being continuously circulated and spread in the Social Media against Knanaya Community and Archdiocese of Kottayam. The Meeting was presided over by Mar Joseph Pandarasseril, the Auxilary Bishop of Kottayam and attended by Rev. Fr. Michael Vettikatt (Vicar General of Kottayam), Rev. Fr. Thomas Kaitharam (Vicar General, Malankara Region), Fr.Thomas Kottoor, Fr.Alex Akkaparambil, Fr.Alex Olikkara (Curia Members), Fr.John Chennakuzhy (PRO), Fr.Thomas Pralel, Dr.Jose James (Secretaries to Pastoral Council), Mr. Stephen George (President of KCC), Mrs. Beena Raju (Secretary to KCWA), Melbin Puliyanthottiyil (KCYL President ), Fr.Mathew Kuriathara (Chief Editor, Apnades), Fr.Saiju Puthenparambil (Chairman, Media Commission) Fr.Bobby Cheriyil, Mr. Shijo Kunnappilly, Fr.Bijo Kochadampallil (Members of Media Commission)
The Meeting observed that the Archbishop had already answered officially and given clarifications to the questions and doubts raised in the social media. Besides, decisions and opinions of Archbishop were discussed and decided in the official meetings of the Archdiocese. In spite of this, it is painful to raise false and unwanted accusations against the Archbishop who always defends the interest of the Archdiocese and Knanaya Community. The Meeting evaluated that this is a calculated and malicious attempt to tarnish the image of Knanaya Community in Public and to confuse the members of the Community. The Members of the Meeting are satisfied at the decisions taken in due times by the Knanaya Leadership in the Past and Present and discussed the current Ecclesiastical Provisions designed to empower the Knanaya Members in the Malabar Region.
The Meeting implored the members to desist from such attempts that will definitely hamper the developments and other possibilities of the Archdiocese in the future and it will have definitely the counter effects.
